Currently America's most-beloved humor(ish) columnist (self-declared), Rex is a journalist with nearly three decades of experience covering everything from the federal execution of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh to the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement, from civil unions to marriage equality. He has extensive breaking-news and feature-writing experience at major news organizations, and finely sculpted man-calves. Rex is also an adjunct journalism professor in Loyola University Chicago's School of Communication, teaching features and opinion writing. He enjoys public speaking, writing silly things, making up words and spending time with his television.
He was also once named a Dairy Queen ambassador by a Chicago-area Dairy Queen franchise. It marked the high point of his career.
Rex is always open to being paid enormous amounts of money to speak about things or write things or help people learn how to write things. He also accepts enormous amounts of money for no reason whatsoever. Most of that money is used to buy Dairy Queen Blizzards. (Dairy Queen is not a sponsor of this newsletter. Yet.)
